Rachel Copp

Originally from a very sparsely populated region of New Zealand called Tasman, Rachel Copp is an artist, 3D animator, and lover of snowboarding. Check out some of her work here.

The main artist to influence Rachel's work has been Alberto Giacometti. There is a long list of New Zealand artists whom she admires. These include; Tony Fonison, Robin White, Nigel Brown, Ralph Hotere and Phillip Cairmont to name a few.

Like many of us, Rachel is also a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

Although she likes many different mediums for creating art, her favourite is 3D. Her favourite computer programme is of course Maya.

In her spare time Rachel enjoys photography and actually collects old cameras. Recently however a lot of her spare time has been taken up with writing. Rachel has just completed a script for her first short film. The working title at the moment for the short film is "Drive".

Rachel's plans for the future are "to start and FINISH" her short film. Hopefully I will have some images to post here in the near future from Rachael's work on "Drive".

Finally, I asked Rachel what will she be remembered for?
"Hopefully for my short films and art".

Sounds good to me!
